Physician Services

Each resident’s healthcare plan is designed and directed by your personal physician or his/her designated alternate. Our medical director also coordinates the center’s medical services, including routine and emergency care.

Medical Records

You and/or your legal representative upon oral or written notice, may request to access all records (financial and/or medical) within twenty-four (24) hours. Photo copies may be purchased for all or any portions of the records for a cost at the community standard, a two(2) work day period advance notice must be given for the copies of these records.

Nursing Services

In order to maintain the highest physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident, our facility is staffed by registered, licensed, and certified nursing personnel.

Rehabilitation/Therapy Program

Courtney Manor offers a variety of different therapies. Our Rehabilitation/Therapy Program focus is on short term stays with the goal of returning to your home setting as soon as possible. We have Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists on staff who will design an individual program for your specific rehab needs. Here is a list of the types offered and a brief description of what purposes they serve.

Speech Therapy
Provides a variety of services to a variety of individuals. Typically, the patient has a diagnosis such as CVA (stroke), TIA, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer Disease or dementia, or a neurological disorder such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson Disease. Treatment usually involves 3-5 sessions per week, for 15 to 60 minute sessions, depending on the patient tolerance, and will focus on what will help the patient achieve his or her most independent functional status. As long as the patient is participating in treatment sessions and is making appropriate progress towards his or her goals for therapy, speech therapy will continue. the speech-language pathologist works closely with the other therapy disciplines such as physical and occupational therapy, as well as nursing, social work, dietary staff, and the patients physician.

Physical Therapy
This is a profession, which develops, coordinates, and directs programs for the care of individuals whose ability to function is impaired or threatened by disease or injury. Physical Therapy focuses on skeletal, neuromuscular, pulmonary, cardiovascular, and orthopedic disorders.

Therapy incorporates a broad spectrum of therapeutic procedures such as massage, hydrotherapy, electrical stimulation, gait and balance training, along with various methods of exercise to maintain, improve, and restore abilities lost to the individual.

Physical Therapists & Assistants are licensed registered personnel who work very closely with physicians, nursing, occupational and speech therapist’s, as well as the patient and their families to develop and implement the most effective program for the individual.

Occupational Therapy
This is the use of purposeful activity with individuals who are limited by physical, mental, psychosocial, and developmental disabilities to improve their function.

Occupational Therapist’s work with individuals to improve their ability to perform activities required for daily living such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and feeding themselves.

Dining Services

Our Dining Services Department is designed to meet a variety of nutritional needs and offers three nutritious and appetizing meals served daily. Our dining room meal service is resaurant style, with our very own Pastry Chef who will delight your sweet tooth. Snacks and beverages are served throughout the day as well. You are encouraged to enjoy the companionship of others in the dining room however, room service is also available if needed. Visitor's are welcome to share the meal experience with our Resident's for a nominal fee.

We offer a large breakfast buffet every morning for our residents, which allows them to choose daily what they will have to eat. We also offer selective menus for those residents who wish to choose their own lunches and dinners on a daily basis.

Social Services

The Social Services Department addresses medically related social and emotional needs from initial inquiry throughout the resident’s stay in the facility.

Social Services continually assesses how the resident is coping and determines the appropriateness for any intervention. Social Services functions in an advocacy role and serves in a liaison capacity to assist the resident in obtaining needed services and resources.

Dental Services

Our facility will assist you in obtaining routine and emergency dental care. In addition to offering a list of dentists in the area, we will assist you in making appointments and arranging transportation to and from the dentist’s office.

Housekeeping and Maintenance Services

For your safety and comfort, and for a clean and pleasant environment, our facility has trained staff to provide housekeeping and maintenance services.

Laundry Services

As a convenience to you and your family members, our facility offers personal laundry service (excluding dry cleaning) on a regular basis.

Barber and Beauty Services

A positive self-image is an important component in the holistic approach to health care. When you look good, you feel better. For your convenience, the barber and beauty shop located in our facility offers a variety of services at regularly scheduled times.

Recreation Services

Our facility offers a wide range of opportunities to maximize your creative self-expression, personal growth, enrichment, physical activity, and social enjoyment. Our therapeutic recreation program takes place both in the facility and in the surrounding community. We strive to enhance the self-esteem of our Residents by filling their days with tasks that meet their skills, lift their spirits and increase their sense of purpose.

Specialized Rehabilitative Therapy Services

Our goal for each resident is to attain and or maintain their optimal level of functioning. In order to meet this goal, we have available qualified licensed therapists who offer physical therapy, speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, and respiratory therapy. All therapy services are provided under the written order of your attending physician.

Pharmacy Services

In addition to obtaining and administering the drugs ordered by your attending physician, the facility also offers a periodic review of your drugs by a registered pharmacist. Every resident has the right to self-administer his or her medications as long as this practice does not pose a danger to the resident or to other residents at the facility. If you are interested in finding out about the self administration of medication program, please contact a member of the nursing staff.

Our Activity Department offers residents a wide range of opportunities to maximize creative self expression, personal growth, enrichment, physical activity, and social enjoyment. A calendar is planned and posted monthly, as well as a list of the various religious services available to them. We encourage our residents to participate in the various activities of their choice, whenever possible.
